Information Brokers invited to present solutions at three-day Makerere ICT workshop
Jinja, Uganda -- Information Brokers, Inc. (a Washington DC based Information Security and Technology firm) Principal Consultant Eric D. Williams, has been asked to relate his ideas for a vision of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) at the Makerere ICT conference. Also included on the three-day agenda were representatives from the Norwegian Agency for Development Corporation (NORAD). ICT is considered one of the highest priorities for development at the university. Initiatives at the University with organizations such as: Rockefeller Foundation, NORAD, SIDA, the Government of Uganda, Africa Development Bank and USAID (through the Leland Initiative) have led to expedited deployment and development of the universities ICT infrastructure and strategy.
"One of the biggest hurdles in adoption of new technology is to get the enterprise to the table and give them a solid understanding of the technology and its benefits. I will be speaking on achieving the 'birds eye view' for the heads of university faculties, to enable them with a common conduit of understanding toward developing an Enterpise-wide strategy" said Eric Williams.
The workshop, to be conducted in Jinja, Uganda on the River Nile will also discuss the development of the Enterprise Architecture and ICT working groups, established on Mr. Williams' previous visit in August.
